In the News:
Secondly,I like to invite all of the Worcester Viking family to visit my website: Sonofcodmansquare.com. I started it last Fall specifically to provide a venue for the youth in my city (Boston) to be portaryed in a much more positive way than they are currently. I especially want them to be proud of seeing themselves somewhere online where they can access pictures, share with freinds & family, and get the attention they deserve. I know that as one of nine children, attention can be hard to come by sometimes ,so hopefully I can help with that in some small way.
We are reminding parents to monitor their children for signs and symptoms of illness and we ask that you keep your child home from practice or games if you feel your child is ill. Please be aware of signs and symptoms of illness from the Flu and keep your child home for 24hrs after your child is symptom free. Please remember to wash your hands frequently, not share water bottles/ mouthguards and cover your mouth if you have a cough/ cold. For more info on how to prevent illness CLICK HERE where you will be brought to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Concession Stands / Volunteers
We are currently filling shifts for the concessions stands. We ask that each player's family donate 1.5 hours to the concession stand each season. Please contact your Team Manager and sign up to work the concession stand if you havent already been contacted. Shifts are based on home games and you do not have to volunteer while your child is playing. Before your childs game is an ideal time to help!
Practices:
Remember to study hard, practice and maintain your weight. All players must meet academic guidelines and regulations to continue playing. Remember to work hard and stay focused these next few weeks...we understand it is hard to get back into routine with school so be sure to get plenty of rest.
Players are reminded to arrive 15 minutes prior to practice and are asked to have transportation arrangements for the close of practice. Parents should arrive 15 minutes prior to the end of practice for announcements, and for pick-up.
Game Day:
On Game days each team will meet at Beaver Brook for sign-in and then will travel to the designated field for the game. It is MANDATORY that all players report to Beaver Brook and sign-in with their Coaches and Team Managers. We ask that each player make contact with the Team so that we can make sure all players are accounted for. If you are running late, or have made other arrangements the Coaches need to be notified. When a player is missing the entire team must wait until we know what is going on with the particular player that is missing. The reason we ask teams to meet at the home field is to make sure we have enough players for the game, to brief parents on directions, and to update players on schedule or field changes. It is imperative that all parents/ players abide to this policy.
